Venezuela Ball Not Going to Beijing 2008

Nicaragua defeated Venezuela 6-5 Sept 4, 2006, during the second round of the Las Americas pre-Olympic baseball torunament in Cuba and put an end to Venezuela's hope to participate in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Nicaraguan manager, Omar Cisneros, used four pitchers who received only five hits, three of which were home runs which allowed Venezuela to be on top of the game up to the last inning.

However, Sandor Guido and Eddy Talavera connected home runs in the eighth inning and another two runs in the first half of the ninth episode which turned over the game and put the Nicaraguans in the threshold of the World Cup in Chinese Taipei in 2007.
Nicaragua's victory put an end to Venezuela's hope to reach the repechage tournament for the grand event in Beijing.

In regards to America, Cuba and the United States have already qualified, as well as the third and fourth places corresponding to Mexico and Canada.
